Lors de la revitalisation du pâturage boisé de Ponchèt, un des objectifs consistait à redonner de la lumière au sous-bois pour favoriser certaines plantes. Le Canton du Valais a récemment transmis les résultats d'une étude qu'il a mandatée afin de connaître l'effet des mesures sur l'ancolie des Alpes et ces derniers sont réjouissants ...
Printemps 2010. Le comité de pilotage du projet de revitalisation du pâturage boisés de Ponchèt constate que quelques ancolies des Alpes occupent encore péniblement le sous-bois qui subit de plus en plus l'ombrage des mélèzes. En raison du statut de protection de l'espèce au niveau Suisse, l'ancolie des Alpes va un peu devenir l'emblème du projet.
/ Intérêt du Canton
L'implication financière du Service des forêts et du paysage dans le projet et la motivation de la bourgeoisie le convainc en 2017 à lancer un monitoring spécifique visant à mettre en évidence l'effet des interventions forestières réalisées sur la population d'ancolie des Alpes à Ponchèt.
/ L'étude
Durant 3 ans, la répartition et la floraison des ancolies seront suivies méticuleusement alors que le pâturage boisé qui a subi de grosses éclaircies se revégétalise peu à peu au sol. Deux enclos spéciaux ont été construit pour servir de référence sans le risque d'atteinte par le gibier ou le bétail de l'alpage.
En janvier 2022, le Canton a transmis au Conseil bourgeoisial les résultats de cette étude.
Le bilan dépasse les attentes ! La comparaison de la population d'ancolies des Alpes avant et après les grosses interventions forestières qui ont pu choquer révèle que le nombre de stations a été doublé sur le site et que le nombre de plantes recensées a plus que décuplé !
De plus, la mise en lumière permet à plus de plantes d'arriver à maturiter et de fleurir et la réduction de la densité des arbres facilite le déplacement des bourdons pour la pollinisation ; de quoi assurer encore de beaux jours à l'ancolie des Alpes à Ponchèt !
